CLE Engineering, Inc. provided topographic surveys, resource area delineation of bordering vegetated wetlands, permitting and civil design services for Tabor Academy’s indoor rowing facility. Prior to construction of this facility, Tabor’s crew program was limited in their ability to row due to the often rough water conditions on Sippican Harbor. The indoor rowing tank facility allows 8-person teams to improve their skills and practice no matter what the weather conditions. CLE worked with Tabor and Saltonstall Architects to develop site designs that included accessible routes not only for the facility, but also for the adjacent athletic fields. Stormwater best management practices were incorporated in the design and all required permits were secured to allow construction to proceed on schedule. The project required detailed planning and efficient execution in order to complete all construction activities during the summer of 2014 and have the facility ready for students’ arrival.
