Inner Harbor Dredging, North Channel

Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation - Gloucester, MA

CLE Engineering was awarded a contract to provide hydrographic surveying, core sampling, permitting, chemical & biological testing, and engineering services relating to the dredging of the Inner Harbor, North Channel in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The project consists of mechanically dredging the area between the federal channel line and the existing bulkheads or structures to allow for greater berthing depths along the existing shoreline at the State Pier and the Gloucester Cruiseport Terminal. The project is anticipated to include dredging approximately 30,000 cubic yards of material with open water disposal at the Massachusetts Bay Disposal Site (MBDS).

CLE is presently working with both the City Harbormaster and the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation, Division of Waterways to provide professional services in support of this project and is in the process of obtaining the necessary local, state and federal permits for this dredging project.
