Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary
CLE designed and managed construction for the replacement of a 525’ boardwalk and viewing platform including 2 aluminum bridge structures spanning 90’ and 40’ from cast in place concrete bridge abutments. The structure is located at the Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary and was a state funded project in concert with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Mass Audubon Society. Throughout the spring, the contractors installed the helical pile foundations, constructed the timber boardwalk and bridge abutments, and maneuvered the long span bridge sections successfully into place. The new board walk is 18” higher than the previous structure providing an enhanced view of the surrounding scenic pond.
